Personal
Childhood Web
As
I look back in my childhood, there are several people in my life that I looked
up to and they left a major impact. They help shape me into the person I am
today!
Dianna
Peele:
A strong black woman of many things, a wife, a devoted
mother, a loving sister and a dear friend but to me she is my grandmother.
Everyone say they love their grandmother, but the love I have for my
grandmother is unmatched. She is one of the most compassionate, hardworking and
selfless individual I know. She is a woman that is so quiet and humble but at
the same time her presence is felt no matter where she goes. She has a smile
that would brighten your worst of days and a relaxed demeanor that would make
you question how tough life really is! As
a child, I got really sick. I had to get transported off by a helicopter from
my local hospital to CHKD children hospital in Norfolk, VA. She has the biggest
fear of heights and was scared to fly. She could of drove and met us at the
hospital. Instead she got on that helicopter with me and held my hand and never left my side. I knew then that
she was my hero.
Erica
Peele Ryan:
Everyone has that one cousin that they look up to
and wish they could be just like them. For me that was my cousin Erica, but I
called her “Pumpkin”. She is more like my big sister. As a child, she always
looked out for me. She made sure I completed my homework, she braided my hair, and
she even gave me fashion tips. Everywhere she went I wanted to go. I try to
stay up really late so I could hang out with her and her friends. She was
perfect in my eyes. She is my role model.
Montre’
Engram:
This is my little cousin Montre’. I call him my “tre
tre”. I’m two years older than him. I know you guys wondering how he had an
impact on my life. He is younger than me. Well I felt like I had to set an
example for him. Like Erica was my role model, I was his role model. In school
I made sure nobody would mess with him, and if they did I came to his rescue. I
helped him with his homework. I even was his cheerleader at his soccer games. (Montre is the one in the blue jacket)
Deborah
Williams:
“Girl you can do whatever you put your mind into” is
what she always told me. This is my aunt Deborah. She is a strong and
hardworking woman. She always wanted the best for me. She would never let me
settle for nothing less. She pushed me hard, and would never let me give up. I
remember this one time I had a track meet. I had fell and scrap my knee,
yelling from the sideline she told me to get up and finish the race. I did just
that I didn’t come in first place but I didn’t come in last and I finished the
race. I was a proud trooper!

Ms.
Bryant: My first teacher Ms. Bryant. She was the
first person that made learning fun. She made story time come to life. She
always had the best snacks. She also gave the best bear hugs in the world. If
you ever came in her class with a frown she would turn it upside down into a
smile. She was an awesome person; I don’t think she ever missed a day of
school. Because of Ms. Bryant I never wanted to miss a day of school. I
remember when I got the chicken pox, I knew I couldn’t go to school but I cry
and cry because I didn’t want Ms. Bryant to be upset. My grandma had to call
the school so I could talk to Ms. Bryant to get approval. Believe it or not when
I was in school, the only way I would miss it was if I had a doctor’s note. Thanks to Ms. Bryant!
